What happens when hydroxyethyl cellulose meets water-based paint?

2023 12/29

As a non-ionic surfactant, hydroxyethyl cellulose has the following properties in addition to thickening, suspending, bonding, floating, film-forming, dispersing, water-retaining and providing protective colloids:

HEC is soluble in hot or cold water and does not precipitate at high temperatures or boiling, giving it a wide range of solubility and viscosity properties, as well as non-thermal gelling properties;

The water retention capacity is twice as high as that of methylcellulose, and it has better flow regulation;

Compared with the recognized methylcellulose and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, HEC has the worst dispersing ability, but the strongest protective colloid ability.

It is nonionic and can coexist with a wide range of other water-soluble polymers, surfactants, and salts. It is an excellent colloidal thickener for solutions containing high-concentration electrolytes.

We also can supply Furfural, Furfuryl Alcohol and Dibenzoylmethane.
