4.2 Determination of the purity of dibenzoylmethane
4.2.1 Method summary
Using gas chromatography, separated by capillary column, detected by hydrogen flame ionization detector, and normalized by peak area.
4.2.2 Reagents
Dichloromethane [75-09-2].
4.2.3 Instruments
4.2.3.1 Gas chromatograph: comply with the provisions of GB/T9722.
4.2.3.2 Chromatographic workstation or chromatographic data processor.
4.2.3.3 Chromatographic column: capillary column, column length 30m, inner diameter 0.25mm, film thickness 0.22pm, stationary phase (5% phenyl) (1% vinyl) methylsiloxane (such as SE-54).
4.2.3.4 Microsyringe 0.5pL.
4.2.4 Operating conditions of gas chromatograph
4.2.4.1 Column temperature: 90°C~280°C (heating rate 10°C/min)
4.2.4.2 Temperature of vaporization chamber: 310°C;
4.2.4.3 Detector temperature: 310°C;
4.2.4.4 Carrier gas: Nz (30mL/min);
4.2.4.5 Gas: H2 (30mL/min);
4.2.4.6 Supporting gas: air (300mL/min);
4.2.4.7 Split ratio: 5:1.
4.2.5 Operation steps
Take about 1 g of dibenzoylmethane sample and dissolve it with about 10 mL of dichloromethane (chromatographically pure) and dilute to 100 pg/uL for later use. After the instrument is stable, take 0.2uL of the sample and inject it from the injection port. After the analysis, the data is processed according to the area normalization method.

In addition to dibenzoylmethane, the company also sells furfural and hydroxyethyl cellulose.
